Dr Ebrahim Patel is an academic clinician, endodontic educator, and clinical director with extensive experience in dental training, systems development, and healthcare leadership. He is affiliated with the University of the Witwatersrand, where he has played a central role in undergraduate and postgraduate dental education, spanning preclinical simulation, clinical endodontics, and research supervision. Dr Patel serves as an external examiner and research assessor for multiple institutions in South Africa, with his own research and publication portfolio focussing on endodontic materials and clinical treatment outcomes.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr Patel has trained dental students, postgraduate candidates, and practicing clinicians across both academic and professional platforms. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his efforts to uplift Dentistry in South Africa and is widely recognised for his hands-on endodontic workshops as well as his contributions to continuing professional development through national and international lectures.
In addition to his academic work, he has held senior leadership roles in both public and private healthcare, contributing to clinical governance, protocol development, operational strategy and scalable dental education models.
